Who Are We

At Kalpana Mehta’s Jumbish Society for Wellbeing (Jumbish), we are guided by the belief that empowering a community requires a commitment to holistic wellbeing. This encompasses fostering faith in oneself, solidarity, empathy, compassion, and self-care. Marginalised and vulnerable communities are more at risk of traumatic experiences of violence, loss, economic deprivation and discrimination. We create safe spaces where people can heal from past trauma and organise themselves to fight against ongoing trauma and injustice. Our approach involves the use of creative and therapeutic art-based practices, including Dance/Movement Therapy, cooperative games, and various forms of creative expression.
